See in Him What Mary SawO may we humans think back afar,
Afar to time of Bethlehem star,
And him regard with rev'rence and awe,
And see in Him what Mary saw. Thou wast the abode of the Giving one!
The tabernacle, the living one!
From thee did Jesus life assume,
The One thou carried within thy womb:
Our God Who made the universe,
Who came to redeem, our fate reverse. When came the night of holy birth
And thine only Son was born on earth,
Thy eyes beheld and thou adored,
Thy Jesus Christ, Our Holy Lord!
O see Him lie in humble stable,
The presence of our Communion table! The manger may bring to mind this
deed,
For He did lie where creature did feed;
Imagine we may in this poor palace,
That where He lay a sign of chalice!
Beneath appearance of wine and bread,
We creatures today by Him are fed. O may we humans think back afar,
Afar to time of Bethlehem star,
And him regard with rev'rence and awe,
And see in Him what Mary saw. Then bring this forth to present time,
And give our love to One sublime,
And Him regard with rev'rence and awe,
And see in Him what Mary saw.
